Took it last night and again tonight for diarrhea and upset stomach without even thinking about it. I think I was confusing Pepto and Tums since I remember reading that Tums was safe, and I didn’t even think to Google pepto since I was in so much discomfort and thought it had to be harmless of course I googled it just to be sure, but only after I had already taken it, and lo and behold it says it’s unsafe and could cause bleeding complications and birth defects!!! I feel SO guilty, I am usually better at doing research on things like this beforehand but I have never ever heard that Pepto was unsafe for pregnancy before. It’s not really one of those things you know about, like how ibuprofen is unsafe etc.
Anyway, I guess I’m looking for reassurance. Has anyone taken Pepto accidentally once or twice in a previous pregnancy and had things turn out ok? I’m reading online that they say “regular use after 30 weeks” is what’s dangerous, and I’m 28 weeks and I’ve only taken it twice, so as long as I don’t take it again I’m sure baby and I will be ok, but I still feel so guilty for being so careless

You’re totally fine. You only did a few times plus I’m sure even if it was more you’d still be ok. Try not to be so hard on yourself!!

I think my OBs office said it was unsafe because it contains aspirin? I could be wrong. I’m sure you’re fine if you’ve only taken it twice. I’d probably call and let my OB know just to be on the safe side. Try not to stress about it!

You're totally fine. There are very few things that could cause serious damage from using only once or twice during pregnancy. Most substances require continuous use to be an issue.
Don't beat yourself up over it.

It’s ok. The birth defect concern is first trimester. The bleeding stuff is because it contains aspirin. If you were taking that much of it on a regular basis, it could theoretically be a problem, but one or two doses really shouldn’t be enough to matter. I am so sorry you’re worried - I know the anxiety is rough. Give your Drs office a call for reassurance if you need to

I took it in the first trimester when I had the stomach flu (I puked it up), but everything was fine with my baby!
