Aeries Student and Parent Portal - Santa Barbara Unified School District (2024)

The Aeries Student and Parent Portal is a service through which students and parents/guardians can access live student records, such as attendance and final grades, and for parents/guardians to complete the annual registration process online.

Student and parent/guardian Aeries Portal accounts require an email address. Once your email address is entered into Aeries, either by your school or through the registration process, you will receive an email with your username and password.

What can I do in the Aeries Portal?

The Aeries Portal provides a way to view student records online, and for parents/guardians to update certain records online. The Portal has a navigation bar with links to the various parts of the Portal:

  • Student Info
    • Profile –Summary of general student information, including current year attendance and secondary school graduation/promotion status
    • Demographics –Detailed general student information
    • Contacts –Parents/guardians, relatives and other emergency contacts
    • Data Confirmation– Allowsupdatesto student information on file, and allows completion of theannual registration processonline
    • Classes –Class schedule for the current school year (secondary schools only)
    • Authorizations –Authorizations for certain activities (e.g., use of Google Apps under age 13)
    • Siblings –Other related students enrolled in the District
  • Attendance
    • Attendance –Attendance records, such as absences and tardies, for the current school year
  • Grades
    • Grades –Report card grades
    • Graduation Status –Progress towards secondary school graduation/promotion
    • Transcripts– Final grades
  • Medical
    • Medical History –Medical alerts and concerns of which the school should be aware

Students

  1. What is my username/password?
    • Your username is your District-provided email address, [student ID]@my.sbunified.org (e.g., 123456@my.sbunified.org).
    • There is no password for Aeries. Log into your District-provided email before accessing Aeries. Once logged into your email, proceed to Aeries, input your username, and clickNext. Click onLog in with Google.
  2. What should I do if I can’t access my District-provided email?
    • You can reset your own password by using theDistrict password portal.
  3. I’ll be attending a different school next year than the one I’m attending this year. How do I see information related to the school I’m attending next year?
    • Go toChange Studentin the upper-right of the screen and pick the record that lists the school you’re attending next year.
    • If you don’t see information for your next school, contact the registrar at that school.
  4. Why can’t I choose courses for the new school year currently?
    • You will be able to choose courses only during the timeframe that your school establishes. Please check with your school’s Counseling Office for more information.
  5. Whom should I contact if I need help with Aeries?
    • Send an email to support@sbunified.org from your District-provided email, or
    • Call (805) 963-4338 x4357.

  1. Why am I receiving an error message stating “Email is Inactive”?
    • Please call (805) 963-4338 x4357 for assistance.
  2. My email was recently added – why can’t I log in?
    • Accounts are created instantly. Check with the school to make sure your contact information is entered correctly.
  3. How do I see my second student in the portal?
    • On the top right hand corner of the portal, click on theChange Studenttab. Additional students will be on the drop down menu.
  4. Why can I only see one student in my portal?
    • The second student probably does not have a correct parent email address in Aeries.
    • Please call (805) 963-4338 x4357 for assistance.
  5. How do I go back to update or change information after I’ve completed registration?
    • In the portal, click onStudent Info, then click onData Confirmation.
  6. Why does the email show a Locked message in red?
    • The email address cannot be changed because it is associated with a parent login (username). Please contact school to update the email.
  7. Why did I only receive a verification code for one of my students?
    • Aeries has a concept of a “primary student”, and that’s the student that appears on the email notification. You will still have access to all students that are linked to your email address. (Refer back to #4 if after logging in you only see one of your students).
  8. What if information in my student’s Profile is incorrect?
    • You should notify your school, and the school will update the information in Aeries.
  9. Why can’t I find other documents required by my school?
    • The only documents in the portal are the District’s mandatory forms. If your school has additional documents for you to review, those documents will be linked to at the end of the portal.
